Knowing Jesus Personally
Scripture Readings
"Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.'" — Matthew 16:16 (NLT)
"If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it." — Matthew 16:25 (NLT)
Jesus can only be truly known through our own personal experiences with Him. Knowing facts about Him from a textbook or hearing someone else's testimony is never enough; He longs for a deep, walking relationship with each of us.
As we navigate life's daily ups and downs, our personal list of who He is to us should continually grow. Provider, comforter, healer, faithful friend, firm source of security, and trusted confidant—these are not just abstract titles, but real identities we discover through lived experience. Jesus is constantly present in our daily lives, inviting us to surrender our control and draw close to Him. As you walk with Him today, pay attention to His presence, trust His guidance, and watch how your understanding of His character expands in rich and powerful ways.
Reflection Question: Which attribute of Jesus—as provider, comforter, healer, or friend—do you need to experience most personally in your life today?
