From Crisis to Companion
So often, we turn to God only when something goes wrong—when life feels overwhelming, when we’re in crisis, or when we don’t know what else to do. In those moments, prayer becomes an emergency call instead of an ongoing conversation. But God never intended for our relationship with Him to be limited to emergencies.
1 Corinthians 3:16 reminds us that we are God’s temple and that His Spirit lives within us. That means God isn’t distant or only available in moments of trouble—He’s present with us every step of the day. When we begin to acknowledge Him in the ordinary moments, not just the difficult ones, everything starts to change.
When God is part of our everyday lives—our decisions, our routines, our conversations—we stop living from one crisis to the next. Instead of reacting in panic, we respond in faith. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, we feel anchored. His presence brings peace, clarity, and stability, even when life isn’t perfect.
Turning to God throughout the day builds consistency in our faith. It reminds us that we don’t walk alone, and we don’t have to carry everything on our own. God isn’t just our rescuer—He’s our constant companion. And when we live with that awareness, we move from surviving emergencies to living in confidence and peace.
Reflection Question: What is one ordinary, routine part of your day (like your morning commute, washing dishes, or checking emails) where you can intentionally pause and welcome the Holy Spirit who already lives inside you?
