God’s presence

John 14:23, reveals God’s deep desire—not just to visit us, but to dwell with us. His presence is meant to be a daily reality, not an occasional experience.

Mary and Joseph unknowingly lost Jesus at the age of twelve. For three days, they searched anxiously before finding Him in Jerusalem during the Passover. They assumed He was with them, only to discover He was not. This story serves as a powerful parallel for our own spiritual lives. In the busyness of routines, responsibilities, and even good intentions, we too can assume God’s presence without intentionally staying connected to Him.

Losing awareness of God’s presence does not mean He has abandoned us, but it often means we have become distracted or drifted from the place where He is speaking and moving. Remaining in God’s presence requires attentiveness—choosing obedience, spending time in His Word, and nurturing our relationship with Him through prayer and worship. Love and obedience keep us aligned with Him.

“Jesus replied, All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.” ~John 14:23
