Refined by Pressure
Life has a way of putting pressure on us—moments that stretch our resolve and shake our confidence in what we believe about God. Psalm 7:9 acknowledges that God sees both the testing and the heart behind it. He is a righteous God who examines our thoughts, our motives, and our faith, even when the road feels uncertain.
The truth is, we won’t always understand what God is doing or why certain challenges come our way. But trust doesn’t require full clarity—it requires surrender. Choosing to trust God in the middle of confusion is an act of faith, and it’s often in those moments that He is doing His deepest work within us.
When we keep trusting Him, God doesn’t just get us through the trial—He strengthens us because of it. He refines our hearts, steadies our spirits, and builds an inner strength that can’t be shaken by circumstances. Over time, we begin to realize that the challenge didn’t break us; it shaped us. And through it all, God remains faithful, using every test to grow us into people who stand firm in Him.
Reflection Question: Think about a current challenge in your life where you lack total clarity. What is one practical way you can stop trying to force an answer and instead surrender your thoughts and motives to the righteous God who is refining you through it?
