Faith in Motion
Ephesians 4:13 and 1 John 3:20–21 remind us that God’s desire for us is maturity—not just growing older in faith but growing deeper. God wants us to be mature people who can think, decide, and act in ways that reflect Him.
Thinking independently doesn’t mean separating ourselves from God; it means not letting the world do our thinking for us. We don’t just absorb every opinion, trend, or pressure around us. Instead, we filter everything through God’s truth. Our minds are shaped by Him, not by the culture we’re surrounded by.
Making responsible decisions flows from that same place. We don’t base our choices on what’s popular or convenient, or even on what others expect from us. We make decisions grounded in God’s teachings—trusting His Word more than the voices around us. When our hearts are aligned with Him, we can move forward with confidence, even when it’s uncomfortable.
And then there’s action. Maturity doesn’t stop at knowing the right thing; it shows up in how we live. Jesus is our example here. He didn’t just speak truth—He lived it out with obedience, humility, and love. Real maturity is visible. It’s faith in motion.
Most importantly, this kind of maturity doesn’t come from trying harder or relying on our own strength. It comes from God’s power working in us. When we trust Him, our confidence grows, and we’re able to live boldly before Him. Spiritual maturity is God shaping us, not us proving ourselves.
Reflection Question: In what area or decision lately have you been letting the opinions, trends, or expectations of the culture do your thinking for you? How can you pause today to filter that situation through God's truth and move forward with bold, Christ-centered confidence instead of choosing what is simply convenient?

1 John 3:20–21 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence.
