True Soul Refreshment

Scripture Reading

"He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name." — Psalm 23:3 (NLT)

When life gets overwhelming, our default response to needing rest usually revolves around external self-care—eating a good meal, getting a massage, scrolling social media, or binge-watching our favorite show. While these things might offer a momentary distraction or physical relaxation, they only address the surface level of who we are. They cannot heal or restore a tired heart.

Only taking care of one part of ourselves will never give us the deep, sustaining strength we truly need. Our souls need rest, and our spiritual energy must be replenished. True soul refreshment doesn't come from worldly escapes; it comes from spending quiet time in the presence of God and meditating on His Word. The One who created you is the only One who can truly fill the empty, weary spaces inside you. When you let the Good Shepherd restore your soul, you gain a renewed strength that carries you through every season.

Reflection Question: What is one area of your life where you've been relying on worldly "self-care" instead of bringing your weary soul to God for true renewal?
