Desire the Giver Over the Gift

Scripture Reading

"Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, 'I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.'" — Hebrews 13:5 (NLT)

It is easy to celebrate someone else’s blessing on the outside while wrestling with quiet resentment on the inside. We nod and smile, but our hearts secretly ask God, "What about me?"

Jealousy creeps in when we start desiring God’s gifts more than God Himself. When we find ourselves waiting on a breakthrough or a fulfilled promise, it can feel like God is holding out on us. But He isn't being stingy. Often, He is using the waiting room to refine our hearts. He wants to help us strip away envy so we can learn to find true contentment in His presence alone.

When God becomes our ultimate priority, His blessings become wonderful gifts rather than requirements for our happiness. Trust His timing today—He is preparing your heart to receive His very best.
