Rooted and Grounded in Christ
Scripture Reading
"Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness." — Colossians 2:7 (NLT)
Think about a plant stuck in dry, nutrient-poor soil. No matter how much sunlight it gets, it struggles to grow and eventually wilts. But when you transplant that same plant into rich, fertile soil, everything changes. It might take a little time to adjust and heal from the move, but eventually, its roots dig deep, and it begins to truly flourish.
The exact same principle applies to our spiritual lives. If we are planted in the bad soil of worldliness, self-reliance, or past hurt, our faith will wither. We need to be rooted and grounded in the rich soil of Christ Jesus and His unchanging love. Getting deeply planted doesn't happen overnight; it requires time, daily effort, and intentional surrender. But as you patiently tend to your relationship with Him through faith and prayer, your roots will grow deep—giving you the strength to stand firm through any storm and receive the full promise of His grace.
Reflection Question: Is there an area of your life where you need to uproot yourself from unhelpful habits or environment and replant your focus in Christ's love?
