The Big Idea

This week, we are learning how Jesus builds His church, how we can get an amazing brand-new start, and how to live with a living hope using 1 Peter 1:3, 1 Timothy 3:15, Matthew 16:18, and John 3:3!

Think About This

Have you ever tried to build a big tower out of blocks? If you build it on a bumpy blanket, it tips over. But if you build it on a flat, hard floor, it stays up! Life is all about finding the right foundation to build on.

• The Strongest Foundation: In Matthew 16:18, Jesus told His friends that He was building something even stronger than a block tower: He built the Church! He doesn't mean a building made of bricks and wood; He means a big family of people who love Him. Jesus is the strongest foundation ever, which means His church family will never fail.

• A Brand-New Start: How do we join this family? In John 3:3, Jesus says we need a "new birth." It’s like hitting a giant reset button on our hearts! When we trust in Jesus, God gives us a fresh, clean start.

• Hope and Truth: 1 Timothy 3:15 calls God's family a "pillar and foundation of the truth," and 1 Peter 1:3 reminds us that we have a "living hope" because Jesus alive! No matter what happens, we can always stand firm and feel safe because we are on God's unshakeable team.

Family Activity: The Unshakeable Tower

Gather some building blocks, cups, or even pillows. Try building a tower on a soft surface like a couch cushion or a bed, and see how easy it is to knock down. Then, move to a hard floor and build the tower again.
