Our Very Best
The Big Idea
This week, we are learning that God wants us to give Him our very best and be a part of His big, loving church family using Romans 12:4–5, Proverbs 3:9–10, and Matthew 6:33!
Think About This
Imagine you have a giant slice of your favorite cake. Would you give your best friend the first big bite, or would you eat almost all of it and only give them the tiny crumbs left on your plate? You’d want to share the best part with them!
God loves us so much, and He asks us to give Him our first and best—not just our leftover time or energy! Proverbs 3:9–10 tells us to honor God with the best of everything we have. When you put God first in your day—like talking to Him when you wake up or choosing to obey Him while playing—Matthew 6:33 promises that He will take care of everything else you need!
God also made us to be part of a team! Romans 12:4–5 shows us that the church is like one big body. Your hand can’t play catch all by itself, and your feet need the rest of your body to run! Just like that, God didn't make us to follow Him all alone. He gave us a church family so we can help each other, share joy, and belong together!
Family Activity
Gather everyone together and try to complete a task using only one hand or with one eye closed (like tying a shoe or building a small block tower). Afterward, work together using everyone's hands to finish it! Talk about how much better and easier things are when every part of God's family works together!
