Loving Yourself, Resting in Grace, and Standing Strong!

You Are Known, Loved, and Made to Be Brave!

The Big Idea:

Jesus loves you just as you are, helps you take care of yourself, and gives you faith to overcome your biggest fears.

Think About This:

Have you ever had a really hard day where you made a mistake or felt afraid of something new? Sometimes we get mad at ourselves or worry that we aren't good enough. But Jesus treats us completely differently!

In Matthew 11:19, we see that Jesus loved being a friend to ordinary, flawed people. He knows every single thing about you and loves you anyway! Because He loves you so much, He wants you to take good care of yourself—like getting enough sleep and being kind to yourself when you make a mistake (Matthew 22:39). And when big fears try to scare you, remember Mark 9:23: with faith in Jesus, anything is possible! You don't have to be afraid or perfect—you just have to trust the God who is always by your side.

Family Activity: The "Mirror & Shield" Morning Routine

  1. Grab a dry-erase marker and stand together in front of a bathroom or bedroom mirror.

  2. Write one nice thing God says about each family member directly on the glass (e.g., "Forgiven," "Loved," "Brave").

  3. Read the words out loud together to practice being kind to yourselves.

  4. Finish by striking a "superhero pose" and shouting Mark 9:23 together: "Anything is possible if a person believes!"

  5. Leave the notes on the mirror all week to remind everyone that they are held by God's grace!
