The Big Idea: God is your greatest treasure!

Think about this: Have you ever lost your favorite toy? You probably looked under the bed, behind the couch, and everywhere else until you found it! In Luke 15:8-10, Jesus tells a story about a woman who loses a silver coin. She doesn't just say, "Oh well." She lights a lamp, sweeps the whole house, and searches carefully until she finds it. When she does, she has a huge party!

That is exactly how God feels about you. He loves you so much that He never stops looking out for you. And guess what? He wants you to look for Him, too! Deuteronomy 4:29 says that if you look for God with all your heart, you will find Him. When you find Him, you find the best friend you could ever have.

Family Activity: "The Hidden Treasure." Hide a heart or a coin somewhere in the house. As the kids search, remind them that God searches for us with joy, and we find joy when we spend time looking for Him in prayer and kindness!
