Growing Together in Community

Scripture Reading

"Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and all the people." — Luke 2:52 (NLT)

A supportive community—whether your family, close friends, or church family—is absolutely essential for spiritual and personal growth. Real character growth isn't something we can simply learn from a textbook, school, or career. It happens in the context of relationships, where we learn how to navigate life with others.

Within a healthy community, we learn to identify, own, express, and deal with our emotions while respecting that everyone has a right to their feelings. It provides a safe space to learn how to handle conflict with grace, navigate seasons of loss, and discover which core values matter most. Surrounded by people who love God, we form good habits that shape our character. Just as Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with people, we need a strong community around us to become everything God created us to be.

Reflection Question: How is your current community helping you process your feelings and grow in character, and where might you need to seek deeper connection?
