Journey through Failure

In Matthew 26:74-75, the sound of that rooster crowing must have been the most piercing noise Peter ever heard. The Bible says he "went outside and wept bitterly." He didn’t try to explain it away or hide behind a busy schedule; he sat in the raw, painful reality of his mistake.

There is a powerful lesson there for all of us: to truly get past a failure, we have to go through it. We live in a world that tells us to "pivot" or "move on" instantly, but God invites us to stay long enough to learn the lesson. Acknowledging the sting is actually the first step toward healing.

When we stop pretending we’re perfect, we finally give God the space to work in our hearts. It’s in those quiet, grieving moments that His mercy meets us, proving that while failure is part of our journey, it is never our destination.

“Peter swore, ‘A curse on me if I’m lying - I don’t know the man!’ And immediately the rooseter crowed. Suddenly Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: ‘Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.’ And he went away, weeping bitterly.” ~Matthew 26:74-75
