Work for God’s Audience
We often focus on the "what" of our daily lives, but Ephesians 6:7-8 invites us to look at the "why." These verses remind us to serve with a good attitude, as if we are working for the Lord rather than for people.
It is easy to feel invisible when you’re putting in extra hours or tackling the "grunt work" that no one else wants to touch. In a world obsessed with shout-outs and performance reviews, the lack of earthly recognition can be draining. However, the Bible offers a beautiful shift in perspective: God is your true Supervisor.
When you do your best with the resources you have, you are offering a form of worship. Whether you are coding, cleaning, or teaching, your diligence is a testimony. Even if the promotion goes to someone else or your boss misses your effort, God is keeping the books. He promises that whatever good anyone does, they will receive the same back from Him. Keep working for the audience of One—He never misses a thing.
“Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are salves or free.” ~Ephesians 6:7-8
