Trust God’s timing
In John 18:10–11, Peter impulsively drew his sword to defend Jesus, but Jesus stops him: “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup My Father has given Me?” Peter acted quickly, trying to control the moment, while Jesus trusted God’s timing completely.
Luke 10:41-42 echoes this truth. Martha was busy, anxious, and racing to do everything, while Mary simply sat at Jesus’ feet, choosing what was truly better. Too often, our lives look like Peter or Martha—rushing, fixing, and filling every moment—while missing the quiet work God is doing.
Jesus calls us to stop racing. To pause. To recognize Him in the middle of our chaos. When we slow down, surrender our impulses, and sit with Him, we align with His will, find peace in His timing, and witness His miracles unfolding. Life isn’t about how fast we move; it’s about being present with Jesus and trusting His plan.
“But the Lord said to her, My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” ~Luke 10:41-42
