A Generous Heart
We’ve all heard the phrase "it is more blessed to give than to receive," but it’s hard to feel blessed when you feel used. When your time, money, or emotional support is taken for granted, the temptation is to close your heart and stop giving altogether. But Acts 20:35 isn’t about the reaction of the receiver; it’s about the transformation of the giver.
God sees the fruit of our labor even when the person in front of us is blind to it. When we give as an act of worship rather than a transaction for appreciation, we become resilient Our "supportive shoulder" isn't tied to a "thank you"—it's tied to our trust in God’s perfect accounting system. He promises to be the one who rewards us, freeing us from the need for human validation. Your generosity is never wasted in His economy.
Reflection Question: Are you giving to get a specific result from people, or are you giving to honor the One who gave everything to you?
“And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’.” ~Acts 20:35
