Best Tour Guide

The Big Idea: This week, we are learning how to choose the right path, stay connected to God all day long, and trust that He is working everything out for our good using Psalm 1:1, Proverbs 3:6, and Romans 8:28!

Think About This: Imagine going on a hike through a giant, beautiful forest. If you’ve never been there before, you could easily get lost or accidentally step into some prickly bushes. But if you have a super-smart tour guide leading you, you will stay safe and have a blast!

Life is a lot like that forest, and God wants to be your Tour Guide! Psalm 1:1 reminds us that we have to be careful about who we follow. If we hang out with people who make fun of others or try to get us to break the rules, we’re following the wrong path. Instead, God wants us to talk to Him about everything. Proverbs 3:6 says to look for Him in all you do, and He will show you exactly which path to take! That means you can chat with Him in real time—while you're playing a game, talking to a friend, or choosing to tell the truth.

When you let God guide your steps, you don't have to panic when something doesn't go your way. If a game gets canceled or plans change, remember Romans 8:28. God promises that He is causing everything to work together for your good because He loves you so much! He can turn a disappointing day into a wonderful surprise.

Family Activity: Go into a room and place a few pillows or toys on the floor as "obstacles." Have one family member put on a blindfold, and let another family member gently guide them across the room using only their voice. Afterward, talk about how listening to God's voice helps us avoid the wrong paths and keeps us safely on His good path!
