Direction and Protection

When we drift from God’s guidance, it’s easy to lose both direction and a sense of covering. Isaiah 53:6 paints it plainly—we all, like sheep, have gone astray, choosing our own path. And if we’re honest, those self-chosen paths often leave us confused, exposed, or carrying weight we were never meant to hold.

But this isn’t about condemnation. 1 Timothy 2:3-4 reminds us that God desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth. His heart is always pulling us back, not pushing us away.

That’s where Luke 15:3–6 comes alive. Like a shepherd who goes after one lost sheep, God actively seeks us when we wander. Leaving His guidance may cost us clarity and protection—but it never costs us His pursuit. He wants us found, safe, and walking with Him again.

“All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” ~Isaiah 53:6

“This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” ~1 Timothy 2:3-4

“So Jesus told them this story. If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep’.” ~Luke 15:3-6
